Online Training Calendar
In its initial phase, the Online Training Calendar links to individual websites
of organizations that provide trainings, such as Illinois Child Care Resource
and Referral Agencies and STARNET.
Look for changes in the Statewide Training Calendar. The next phase of the
calendar will feature all the trainings for all the regional CCR&Rs right
here on this page. Plans are in the works for a comprehensive statewide
calendar that will also invite groups to post their trainings right to this
page.
Practitioner and Training/Trainer Registry
Also in development for Gateways to Opportunity is a practitioner and
training/trainer registry. The practitioner registry will allow early care and
education professionals to track their professional attainments and trainings,
from college coursework to trainings offered by Child Care Resource and
Referral Agencies, STARNET, and others. Practitioners
will be able to request an official transcript listing their attainments. This
transcript will be a permanent record of achievement and can be updated on a
regular basis. Professional Development Advisors will also be able to access
these transcripts to better advise practitioners of opportunities available to
them.
Training information from the local CCR &R’s
The local Resource and Referral system offers access to conferences, self-study
modules, training series, and workshops for early care and education
practitioners. These trainings are targeted specifically to the needs of area
child care providers, including new and seasoned providers. The Illinois
Department of Children and Family Services requires all licensed providers,
home and center, to acquire training hours each year. Local Resource and
Referral Agencies can assist providers in meeting this requirement.
