"Parent relations is a priority."

Diane L. Friend

Executive Director
Decatur Day Care Center, Inc.

"This credential makes a huge impact in helping me value what I have achieved in the past twenty years serving my families, children and staff."

Diane was awarded the Level I Illinois Director Credential in February 2004. She has been the Executive Director of the Decatur Day Care Center, Inc. for 12 years.

Diane began her professional journey in Early Childhood after raising her own children into their teenage years.  She has been a "professional volunteer" for her children's elementary school and it might have been this experience that sparked her passion - helping children and families to succeed.

Parent relations are a priority for Diane.  Communicating with parents with a positive and optimisitc attitiude and working to building a team approach for the care of children is important to her.

Diane's professional development advisor, Lazetta Farnham, is the reason she applied for the credential.  Lazetta was so encouraging amd the process workable for Diane.
