"The IDC is one of the paths I chose to support me as a Center
Director. It was, and is, a great way to stay involved in my personal
development while improving the school. I strongly encourage all directors, no
matter what credentials they may have earned in the past, to investigate IDC as
a motivating, positive force in their career. Everyone benefits with this
program: the recipient of the IDC, the staff at the center, the parents and the
children, both current and those to come, who attend the program."

I entered the Early Childhood field because, while my career experience and
education have always involved teaching, I believe the “early” years are the
most significant in establishing “a love of learning” in a child.
I have years of experience working with and educating children either as a
teacher, a volunteer or as a parent. For me, there is no greater reward than to
be involved, at any level, with the healthy growth and development of a child.
The intrinsic joy and humbling knowledge that we are all “students” each day is
an incredible reality for me. To be instrumental in making that reality
enjoyable for children, as opposed to tedious and demanding, is one of my
goals. By continuing to learn and grow in my own personal development, I am
able to share the “love of learning” with my staff and the children and young
families I serve.
As a parent of four successful young adults, I count my blessings and encourage
my children to always question, investigate and enjoy learning new things.
Human development includes everything life has to offer and I am happy to say I
am continuing to discover new hobbies, people, and ideas on a daily basis. I am
grateful for the many people who, along the way, encouraged me in my journey of
loving to learn, enjoying people and believing in children.
