"Receiving
the Illinois Director Credential has been an affirmation of the skills and
knowledge that I bring to the work I do with children, families, and teachers."

"I am awed to be included in a group of people who are so
talented, so amazingly dedicated to doing what's best for children and
families. The people I've met through the Illinois Director Credential have
given me words of wisdom and inspiration to last a lifetime."

Erin was awarded the Level III Illinois Director Credential in May 2001. She has
been the Executive Director of Weekday Children's Center in Naperville,
Illinois, since 1994.
She became the director after serving as assistant director and as a teacher at
the same center. Erin also had 5 previous years of teaching experience in a
variety of Title XX, for-profit, and corporate-sponsored child care settings.
While Erin has always held a current elementary education teaching certificate,
she feels the work she has done to earn the Illinois Director Credential has
confirmed that she is an early childhood person and that is where she has
chosen to spend her work life.
When asked how the Illinois Director Credential has affected her, Erin replied
that "it has given me a way to inform others about what I do and has encouraged
me to continue learning as the body of knowledge about directing a child care
center grows." She also went on to add that the process of gathering records,
recalling efforts, renewing contacts, and presenting it as a total package was
uplifting and invigorating.
