"I believe strongly that we must meet the needs of all
children, no matter what the circumstances."

"In order for an individual to excel in life, it is that
person's early development and education that sets the pace for the remainder
of one's life."
|
Stacy was awarded the Level I Illinois Director Credential in February 2002. She
has been the Director of Little Angels II for 17 years.
Stacy entered the early childhood field because she believes it is an
individual's early development and education that sets the pace for the
remainder of one's life. Therefore, she says, "it is extremely important that
early childhood have the professionals needed to ensure this development."
Stacy is pleased to see that the early childhood field is becoming more
recognized as the foundation to success in life. She feels that as the
professionals who make up the foundation become stronger, the children they
reach (and thus society) will become stronger as well.
While Stacy's goal of providing quality care and education remains the same, the
experiences she has had over the years have contributed to the teacher and
administrator that she has become. She continues to take classes, seminars, and
trainings to increase her knowledge. Stacy also shares what she has learned
with others. She teaches education students at a junior college part-time on
the topic of how to implement math, science and language arts into day to day
activities.
Stacy feels that the Illinois Director Credential plays a very important role in
the changing field of early childhood care and education. One role she sees
credentialed directors taking is as mentors for other directors.
The mother of two children, Stacy enjoys working with children, writing,
reading, listening to music, spending time with her own children, and
advocating for children with special needs.
