“I was so delighted to receive my Level II Director
Credential. It truly made me feel appreciated and honored as a person who works
in a very demanding and sometimes overwhelming position. I am very thankful for
an organization that encourages and rewards individuals who strive for
excellence in the field of Child Development. The IDC makes the pathway to
professionalism obtainable and user friendly. Thanks so much for all you do on
behalf of the people who work as providers in Illinois!!!”

I started Miranda House Daycare on April 1st, 2001 because I wanted to
personally care for my new baby boy. I wanted to witness every aspect of my
son’s development. I wanted to learn all I could about the growth and
development of children both physically and mentally. With this new desire, I
entered school and obtained my Associate’s degree in Child Development from
Richard J. Daley College. I later acquired a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology
from National-Louis University.
My goals as a provider are to change my home-based daycare into a center and
possibly learn a second language (Spanish). My personal goal is to do more
missionary work through the church I attend, with a focus on meeting the needs
of children. My professional goals are to obtain a Master’s Degree in Early
Childhood Education (currently enrolled at National-Louis University) and later
pursue a Doctoral Degree.
I am currently married to Ron Miranda Sr. and I have two children, one boy, Ron
Miranda Jr. and a daughter, Alexia Patrice Miranda. My hobbies are walking, (I
love taking long walks through the park), bike riding, reading, and dancing. I
currently have one pet, which is a hermit crab named Pirus. I have been very
fortunate in my position as a Group Home Provider. The children I care for and
the families that I serve have helped to enrich my life, as well as afforded me
many opportunities to shape the lives of the future.
