Direct Route
ECE practitioners submit a portfolio to the Gateways to Opportunity office that validates competencies and experience in early care and education. Education, training, work experience, professional contributions, skills, and knowledge are represented through the completion of a portfolio. The portfolio is reviewed, which includes a formal transcript evaluation as well as an assessment process that determines the awarding of credentials.

Application Fee—$75.00
Evaluation Fee—$350.00*
Assessment Fee—$150.00 (per credential)

Add-on Credential Fee—$225.00 (per credential)
Level Advancement—$75.00 (per credential)
Renewal Fee—$75.00 (only applies to currently credentialed recipients)

Financial Assistance
Financial assistance may be available through the Gateways to Opportunity Scholarship Program and through Professional Development Funds at local Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies. Financial aid for coursework may be available through the financial aid office of the college or university attended.
Portfolio Submission Dates
Portfolios must be submitted to Gateways to Opportunity by the last Friday of the every month. Any applications received after these dates will be processed on the next submission date.
