March Issue
Many of you may recall that our issue of Inside Gateways last June
focused on innovative practices in higher education. We still continue to
collect those types of stories for that section of our Web site. This quarter,
we are focusing on innovative practices in early care and education programs,
with the hope of developing a similar section to house future ideas and
stories.
I find that new ideas are often hard to come by in my work. I spend much of my
time networking with and researching other states so that Illinois doesn’t try
to reinvent the wheel when it comes to professional development. Although we
are known throughout this nation for our own innovative ideas and programs, we
still have much to learn from others.
This concept is behind the two sections of our Web site that will house
innovative practices. We hope that you not only share your story with us but
also take time to read and learn from others. We have gathered some great ideas
for this month’s e-newsletter that we hope you will learn from and take
pleasure in. Please continue to share your stories! We want to be the network
through which you can share your ideas.
Finally, this is the 5th issue of Inside Gateways, the
quarterly e-newsletter for the Gateways to Opportunity Professional Development
Network, and we’re asking for your feedback. Your responses to the
four questions on the survey included with this issue will help us
determine the direction to take with this important form of communication.
Enjoy!
