Renewals and Level Advancements

Renewals

To renew a current Illinois Director Credential (IDC), the following requirements must be met:

• Complete and submit the Participant Application and Credential Supplement
• Trainings/coursework completed equal to three points on the IDC grid
  • One point is equivalent to one semester hour of college credit
  • One point is equivalent to 15 cumulative clock hours of training
  • Points from both college coursework and trainings may be utilized to equal the three points necessary for renewal
  • Trainings/coursework must have been completed within the last five years
• Three professional contributions completed within the last five years
• Renewal Fee—$75.00

Level Advancements

In order to level advance your current Illinois Director Credential (IDC), the following requirements must be met:

• Complete and submit the Participant Application and Credential Supplement
• Trainings/coursework to compensate for the difference in required points among levels
  • Points must be at the appropriate level in both Early Childhood/School-Age and Administration Component Areas
• Professional contributions that satisfy requirements for each level
• Administrative experience that fulfills the required hours at each level
• Level Advancement Fee—$75.00
